The IMA Financial Group has grown and prospered over the years to include 400 associates with offices in Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Kansas City, KS; Topeka, KS; Wichita, KS; Boston, MA and Los Angeles, CA. The following timeline is an overview of our history:
1932 Paul Yankey Co. formed
1933 Joe Moddrell Agency founded
1937 W.C. Cohen Insurance formed
1946 Cohen-Steenrod Agency formed
1973 IMA Partnership formed
(Yankey Co., Moddrell Agency and Cohen-Steenrod)
1974 Partnership dissolved; IMA formed
1981 Topeka office opened
1982 Alexander & Alexander of Kansas purchased; Harris Burns is purchased
1988 Carsen & Evans purchased; Denver office is opened
1992 IMA reorganizes into IMA of Colorado, IMA of Topeka and IMA of Wichita
1992 Glendale Agency is acquired
1997 ERA - Energy Risk Associates in Dallas, TX is formed
1999 TrueNorth is created
2000 IMA reorganizes under IMA Financial Group, Inc.
2001 TrueNorth Securities is formed
2003 IMA opened office in Kansas City
2005 IMA opened office in Dallas
2008 Assets and employees of PWIB Texas are acquired and are merged with
Energy Risk Associates to form Towerstone, Inc.
