
Marcia Benshoof Named President of IMA of Colorado
Benshoof to lead operations, strategy and innovation initiatives for Colorado Market
DENVER – June 8, 2009 – The IMA Financial Group, Inc., a diversified financial services company specializing in insurance, asset and risk management with 450 employees and offices in seven markets across the nation, today announced the addition of Marcia Benshoof as president of IMA of Colorado. IMA of Colorado is part of IMA, Inc., the 16th largest independently owned retail insurance broker in the U.S. with operations in Dallas, Denver, Topeka, Wichita, Kansas City and Madison, Wisc.

Benshoof succeeds Reiter, who had served as IMA of Colorado’s interim president since his 2008 promotion to his current role.
As a proven leader with deep insurance and business expertise, Benshoof will oversee operations and continue a tradition of excellence for IMA of Colorado and its nearly 200 Denver employees. Prior to joining IMA, Benshoof served as chief business officer for Pinnacol Assurance for 11 years. At Pinnacol, she was responsible for all business operations and directed the performance of 11 profit centers across four comprehensive market segments. She oversaw all aspects of underwriting, safety and claims service for Pinnacol’s 58,000 customers and was instrumental in Pinnacol’s advancement to one of the nation’s highest performing worker’s compensation carriers. At Pinnacol, she founded and led Pinnacol in Action, the company’s corporate community volunteer program that has key partnerships supporting involvement with Volunteers of America, Big Brothers Big Sisters, National Sports Center for the Disabled, Junior Achievement and the 9Health Fairs. Pinnacol in Action has earned national recognition for excellence in community service.
Benshoof has more than 30 years experience in the insurance industry including executive positions within the workers compensation and managed care marketplaces. She has deep sales and product development experience and academic credentials from a faculty position with the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Benshoof holds a bachelor's degree in clinical psychology and a bachelor's degree in counseling, both from the University of Northern Colorado. She serves on a number of boards and committees including the Healthcare Executive Forum and Colorado’s Business Leaders in Managed Care.
