JOB DESCRIPTION 
Processing Account Manager - 1

 

Role:

Actively participate in team consisting of Sales/Account Executive, Processing and Servicing Account Manager in coordinating and providing IMA services to our commercial clients of moderate to least complexity.

  Major Duties and Responsibilities    
(E) Essential or (N) Nonessential
30%  Responsible for processing all policies, endorsements, etc. E
20% In conjunction with SAM, responsible for account servicing needs during the policy year including binders, certificates, auto ID cards, filings, ordering endorsements etc.  Accountable for maintaining account files including Sagitta data base, core files and transactional files.  E
20% Assist in risk and exposure analysis and complete renewal process on designated existing accounts as follows: 
1) Request loss runs from insurance carriers; 
2) Prepare and/or update premium and loss summary on system; 
3) Prepare account review according to standards set forth by the IMA Commercial workflow; 
4) Coordinate time frames with Servicing Account Manager.

15%  Responsible to verify and reconcile accuracy of premiums and commissions. E
10% Set up and maintain follow up for final audits on expired and/or non-renewed policies.  Process audits and update exposure comparison. E
5% Actively support the team by participating in the completion of all duties required to complete a project and service an account. E
  Expectations:  
 
  1. Complete all duties in accordance with IMA workflow standards.
  2. Treat clients, company personnel and associates with respect and courtesy.
  3. Involvement in Program in General Insurance (INS 21, INS 22 and INS 23) classes.
 
  Knowledge and Skills:  
Experience: 

Six months to two years of similar or related experience.

Education: 

Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.

Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.  Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
  Other Skills:

Prefer college graduate. Strong written and oral communications skills.  Ability to interpret insurance documents.  Math skill required involves familiarity with ratios, percentages, discounts and commissions.  Requires strong common sense, ability to handle standard situations and handle and prioritize multiple tasks.  Property and casualty license required for state of business. Must fulfill continuing education requirements to retain license. Strong computer proficiency. Willingness to complete additional duties or take on added responsibilities as the need arises. 

Operational Latitude (Reasoning/Decision Making):
Specific standards and operating procedures provide some options and latitude for independent decision and action.  Decisions are usually limited to choosing between two or three options. There is minimal room for discretion.  

Mental Process:
Problems encountered are relatively simple in nature, requiring some analysis or research to determine the best solution from a limited number of prescribed options.
