Quality & Audit Assistant

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the coordination of on site Professional Standards reviews, whether external or internal, conduct reviews as directed, and assist with implementation and monitoring of changes indicated by the review results.
  • Assist Quality & Audit Manager with monitoring and implementing all aspects of the quality control program including, but not limited to: audit reviews, carrier ratings, and database entry, maintenance, and/or reporting.  Databases include departmental databases and all IMA agency management systems.
  • In conjunction with the Quality and Audit Manager, responsible for maintenance and communication to associates concerning legal department resource databases including, but not limited to: forms library, surplus lines, approved wholesaler list, legal department intranet, and fees.
  • Perform research and analysis including, but not limited to: reviewing insurance publications, newsletters and ISO/NCCI manuals and disseminating information to Legal Department staff or IMA staff, as instructed; in depth research of coverages; researching various compliance or quality management issues.
  • Assist with review of E&O claims and work directly with E&O committee as directed.
  • Complete a wide range of support tasks, including filing, database entry and maintenance, running and analyzing reports, copying and distributing various memorandum, correspondence, library , processing of information, etc.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned by General Counsel and Legal Department staff.
Experience and Education
  • Five to ten years of similar or related experience.
  • Equivalent to a college degree.
Preferred Skills

Prefer five to ten years of similar or related experience including, but not limited to:

  • Agency operations (licensing, surplus lines, etc.)
  • Workflow (Benefits or Property/Casualty)
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong insurance technical knowledge in either Property/Casualty or Benefits
  • Negotiation experience (ie: marketing claims involvement)
  • Carrier experience/underwriting a plus

Prefer college graduate. 

Strong written and oral communication skills. 

Ability to interpret insurance documents. 

Requires ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks. 

Strong research skills including contacting others in industry, use of internet and other electronic resources.

Strong computer proficiency, including agency management systems, Word, Excel.  Familiarity with Sagitta and Access would be a plus. 

Willingness to complete additional duties and take on additional  responsibility as the need arises.
