JOB DESCRIPTION 
Contract Administrator - 2

 

Role:

Review insurance and indemnity specifications in contracts for IMA clients.  Must work closely with Director(s)/Account Executives, and Processing and Servicing Account Managers in providing coverage and premium information to the IMA client as it relates to the insurance and indemnity requirements of the contract.  Actively participate in a team consisting of Sales/Account Executives, and Processing and Servicing Account Managers in coordinating and providing IMA services to our commercial clients of moderate to high complexity.  

  Major Duties and Responsibilities    
(E) Essential or (N) Nonessential
50%  Review insurance and indemnity specifications in contracts.  Advise AE or SAM of any potential coverage issues/discrepancies.  Work closely with AE and SAM in communication to insured.  Responsible for the completion of a Contract Review form, including saving an electronic copy in the Client Contract Review Folder and filing a printed copy with the contract documents provided by the client.  Verify that the Contract Review form is updated to reflect any coverage changes at time of renewal. E
15% In conjunction with the AE and SAM, develop and maintain the "wrap up"tracking spreadsheet for Construction accounts. E
15% Support the Producer(s), Director(s), and AE(s) in participating in client focused training sessions, which will include contractual/indemnification discussions. E
10%  Provide direct support to AE and SAM in negotiation of policy endorsements as they relate to contract reviews, certificate of insurance requests and "kicked back" certificates of insurance and the communication to the client. E
10% Actively support the team by participating  in the completion of all duties required to complete a project and service an account. E
  Expectations:  
 
  1. Complete all duties in accordance with IMA workflow standards.
  2. Treat clients, company personnel and associates with respect and courtesy.
  3. Involvement in professional designation programs such as AIS, AU, CPCU.
  4. Continuing research and education relating to contractual risk.  Including additional insured provision, waivers of subrogation, indemnity and hold harmless agreements and insurance coverage pertaining to the construction industry.
 
  Knowledge and Skills:  
Experience: 

Two years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education: 

Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.  Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.  Work may involve motivating or influencing others.  Outside contacts become  important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
  Other Skills: Prefer college graduate. Strong written and oral communications skills.  Ability to interpret insurance documents.  Requires strong common sense, ability to handle standard situations and handle and prioritize multiple tasks.  Property and casualty license required for state of business.  Must fulfill continuing education requirements to retain license. Strong computer proficiency.  Willingness to complete additional duties and take on additional responsibility as the need arises. 
 
Operational Latitude (Reasoning/Decision Making):
Diversified procedures, specialized job standards, and specific policies limit the latitude permitted for independent judgment.  Work requires analytical ability, judgment, and ingenuity. There is a moderate amount of discretion available in the job. 
 
Mental Process:   
Problems encountered are somewhat complex, requiring analysis of data; weighing the outcomes of a decision.  Problems are generally similar in nature, with previous precedent to draw upon.
