Account Manager 3 - Employee Benefits

 

Role:

Actively participate in team consisting of an Account Executive, Account Analyst and Account Manager in coordinating and providing IMA services to our clients.  Continually seeks ways to improve knowledge and expertise through education including self-study, courses and project work.

  Major Duties and Responsibilities

30%  SERVICE:  Client service, account retention and account management responsibility to include service requests that relate to claims, premiums and eligibility. With minimal guidance, interfaces with clients, vendors and associates to solve issues relating to Employee Benefit programs.  Provides superior customer service to all external and internal clients with minimal guidance.  Develops and maintains proactive communication with clients. E
30% CLIENT MEETINGS:  Participates in client and prospect meetings as required. E
10% MARKETING:  Participates in collection of data from client and carrier.  Assist in the RFP and Proposal process.  Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, pricing strategies and market/product options. E
10%  TECHNOLOGY:  Utilizes agency management systems for daily activities.  Utilizes claims analysis tools.  Works with Account Executive to perform plan modeling and drill-down reporting. E
10% RENEWAL PROCESS/PLAN IMPLEMENTATION:  Manages renewal and enrollment process. May perform contract review.  Facilitates enrollment meetings. E
10% CLIENT EDUCATION:  Trains client on technology and resources available.  Provides ongoing technical/consulting service regarding compliance and legislation to clients.


Expectations:

  1. Complete all duties in accordance with IMA standards.
  2. Treat clients, company personnel and associates with respect and courtesy.
  Knowledge and Skills:  
Experience: 

Two years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education: 

Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.

Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.  Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.
  Other Skills:

Prefer college graduate, 4 year degree or equivalent experience required. 
 
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills that is demonstrated with both internal and external clients.  Readily assists client when needed.  The ability to be persuasive while maintaining good relationships is required.  Must possess a high degree of tact, diplomacy and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
 
Will attain a state Life and Health license in accordance with IMA standards.  
 
Must be proficient with Microsoft products.  Possess strong reasoning skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data.  Clearly communicates ideas in a concise manner including in presentations and written correspondence.  Demonstrates the committment to work through projects to completion.  Strong organizational skills are critical to the success of this position.  Must effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects while consistently meeting time lines. Possess delegation skills and be capable of working independently.
 
Some travel required.
