Executive Bios | Leanna Clark

Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, IMA Financial Group & Executive Director of the IMA Foundation

Leanna is Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for The IMA Financial Group and also oversees the company’s philanthropic arm, the IMA Foundation, which actively gives to nonprofit interests in the communities in which the company operates. 

Before joining IMA, for 12 years, Leanna served as principal and co-owner of Schenkein where she has played an instrumental role in helping the PR and marketing agency become recognized as one of the top 10 mid-size firms in America. Previously, she worked for an integrated marketing firm, overseeing all elements of the marketing mix for a variety of  clients, and got her start as a radio and television reporter and producer. Leanna is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) as well as the Counselor’s Academy of PRSA. She has received her APR (Accreditation in Public Relations) and has served on the PRSA Colorado Chapter’s board of directors, as well as on the national board for the Council of PR Firms.

Active in the community, Leanna serves on the board for the Public Education and Business Coalition and the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation. She also served on the 2008 Democratic National Convention host committee, as a member of the marketing committee as well as on the environmental sustainability committee. In addition, Leanna serves on the Advisory Board to the Dean of the University of Colorado at Boulder's School of Journalism and Mass Communication, helping ensure the university continues to be a leader in training tomorrow's communications professionals. 

Leanna has been recognized by the Denver Business Journal as a “PowerBook” award recipient and one of the “Forty Under 40” top young business leaders. She’s also received national recognition from the Universal Press Syndicate as part of its “Workwise” Awards, honoring innovation and creativity among workplace leaders, and has been named “Woman of Achievement” by the Association for Women in Communications. She is a 2009 recipient of the Girl Scout's "Women of Distinction" designation, selected by her peers for her professional accomplishments, leadership and community contributions.

Leanna holds a degree in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she graduated with highest honors.
