Executive Bios | Ray Merz
President: Special Risk Division, IMA, Inc.
Ray Merz is President of the Special Risk Division of IMA, Inc. While most of his time is spent in the Risk Management Department and working with Alternative Risk Financing accounts and groups, he also oversees the Environmental Division, Financial Services Department, Insurance Program Management, and Claim Management and TPA activities for IMA.
Ray has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Cincinnati, and has earned the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations. In addition to being a licensed agent, Ray holds licenses for Excess and Surplus Lines.
Before joining IMA in 1986, Ray spent ten years with the Chubb Insurance Group as Commercial Underwriting Manager in Atlanta and Kansas City, and Property Underwriting Manager in Indianapolis and Cincinnati. Prior to that, he was with CNA Insurance for 2 years and Safeco Insurance for 5 years as Commercial Underwriter and Loss Control Representative.
Ray has been active in the community working in various roles with his church.
